Horwath HTL was appointed to develop a Destination Management Plan by the regional tourist board with a key goal of raising the competitiveness of the entire system of tourist boards at the county level
Description of Project
Horwath HTL developed a Destination Management Plan which in the first phase defined the current state of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County destination management system and analyzed the system’s compliance with the new state-level legislative framework aimed at transforming the current system of tourist boards system into a DMO system. Within the second phase, a management plan defined 4 tourism clusters as logical tourism-experiential areas, following by tourism products prioritization for each of the clusters. Given the national level legislature on tourism boards’ marketing activities, plan defines the distribution of responsibilities for communication and product development between the regional tourist board and the City of Dubrovnik Tourist Board. Furthermore, planed proposed a formal association of tourist boards based on the defined system of tourism clusters.
