Strategy for Tourism Development of Dubrovnik-Neretva County 2013 – 2020 – Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Croatia
Overview
This tourism region is concentrated around city of Dubrovnik as one of the leading Mediterranean tourism destinations. However, no consistent tourism strategy has ever been developed for the whole region, resulting in very heterogeneous and mutually conflicting development models of its clusters.
Description of Project
Horwath HTL was appointed to develop regional tourism strategy to ensure maximum synergy of tourism development models between regional tourism clusters and overall regional level tourism value chain competitiveness upgrade. As part of the project, an extensive analysis of the current situation was performed, which served as a basis for further phases of the project. The entire project process was realized in an interactive way with Client and destination stakeholders. In the following phases of the project, a strategic development framework and growth model were defined, a product development plan was set, market segments and marketing guidelines were defined, as well as investment and competitiveness projects management model. Furthermore, 6 tourist clusters of the county have been defined, which are defined development needs for each of the clusters.
